Sergio A. Escobar

Sergio is currently the Managing Director at BCF Ventures, a Montreal-based corporate venture capital fund where he invests in B2B enterprise software startups at the Seed and Series A stages across the US, Canada, and Israel. Through this affiliation, Sergio is also the Managing Director of Lalotte Ventures, the Garber-Boucher family office-backed venture capital fund.

Previously, Sergio was the Director of Founder Institute Montreal, a pre-seed accelerator program, and he has been awarded several times as the best Director worldwide.

Sergio has been supporting early-stage startups across various stages, from inception to growth, as a mentor and is a true believer in giving back to the tech ecosystem. He was an active member of the Techstars Global Ecosystem, acting as a Techstars Startup Weekend Global Facilitator, Entrepreneur-in-Residence, and Curator at Techstars Startup Digest. Prior to that, he was a serial entrepreneur and operator with startups in aerospace, eCommerce, manufacturing, AgTech, and financial technologies. He has been a mentor for many incubators and accelerators, including Founder Institute, Techstars, McGill X-1, Startup Chile, Startup Peru, Startup Bootcamp FinTech London, MsB Tunisia, Flat6Labs Tunisia, Kuwait National Fund, the World Bank Tech Entrepreneurship Program for Innovation in the Caribbean, Krypto Labs in the Middle East, and Creative Destruction Lab in Artificial Intelligence & Supply Chain.
